Akshat Kaushik: With Offers from Many Ivy League Colleges, Chooses to Study in India

17-year-old Akshat Kaushik cracks some of the top competitive entrance examinations such as AIIMS and NEET among others as well scoring an impressive score in SAT. Akshat has chosen to pursue his higher education course in MBBS from AIIMS, even though he is eligible for IVY League Colleges.

Akshat Kaushik: With Offers from Many Ivy League Colleges, Chooses to Study in India

After cracking various competitive entrance examinations, even at an international level, Akshat Kaushik from Varanasi has chosen to pursue his higher education programmes in India. He had the opportunities to take admission in some of the prominent IVY League Colleges as well. However, he decided it was a better option to pursue his dream from one of the Indian higher educational institutions.

Akshat Kaushik appeared for different competitive entrance examinations such as JEE Advanced , AIIMS , NEET , JIPMER and KVPY this year alone. Being a 17-year-old boy, Kaushik was also able to sit for the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) in which he was able to score a whopping 1470 out of a total of 1600 in the first attempt itself. Kaushik is now eligible to take admission in different IVY League colleges, however, he has chosen to pursue a programme in MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi .

Among his scores, Akshat Kaushik has achieved the third rank in AIIMS MBBS Entrance test as well as in NEET. He was able to take the 14th rank in JIPMER MBBS Entrance exam. In the JEE Advanced examinations, Akshat was able to reach a rank of 433, while being the only PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) student to able to do so.

Akshat Kaushik was also able to achieve the first rank in the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna which is a research fellowship that is funded by the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology. The fellowship is awarded to students who aspire to pursue a career in the basic sciences and research in sciences as well.
