AKTU Collaborates with NASSCOM for Employability Enhancement Programmes

AKTU Collaborates with NASSCOM for Employability Enhancement Programmes

With a motive to enhance skills in the IT (Information Technology) sector, Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University, also known as AKTU, has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with NASSCOM, an ITeS Sector Skills Council. Through this collaboration, AKTU and NASSCOM will launch employability enhancement programmes.

Through this collaborative initiative, AKTU and NASSCOM are aiming to offer programmes to UG (Undergraduate) students as either an add-on course or elective course. These courses will help the students to improve their skills and enhance employability. The programmes developed by NASSCOM that will be offered through this collaboration are ‘Analyst Application Security’ and ‘Associate – Analytics’. These are job role-based programmes that will develop the skills required for the industry.

NASSCOM will also offer TTT (Train-the-Trainer) programme for college or university faculty members. The objective of TTT programme is to provide an in-depth view of pedagogy and principles fundamental to the course.

Through this significant collaboration, NASSCOM will provide recommendations and guidelines pertaining to programme particulars such as student and faculty selection, infrastructure for evaluation and training under the dynamic supervision of steering committee members of the varsity. NASSCOM will participate in assessment and certification process after the successful completion of the training.

NASSCOM’s QP Certification will be in conjunction with the NSDC (National Skills Development Corporation) and MSDE (Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship).

Expressing his views on this MoU, Vice Chancellor of AKTU, Mr. Vinay Pathak revealed that the varsity is excited to collaborate with NASSCOM. The collaboration will produce industry-ready engineers and equip AKTU faculty with state-of-the-art technology. Partnership with NASSCOM is a positive step towards building larger industry-ready engineers through experiential learning, he concluded.
