The All IIT Placement Committee, also known as the AIPC has officially cancelled the ban that was put on 30 companies from taking part in the IIT placements conducted every year. Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will now allow some start-ups to take part in the placement drives. These companies include:
- Stayzilla
- Peppertap
- Grofers
- Zomato
The decision regarding revoking the ban on 30 companies was taken during 23 rd AIPC meeting that took place at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) on September 8, 2017. AIPC had imposed a ban on these companies last year in August as the start-ups failed to provide offer letters to students at a meeting that took place in IIT Kanpur last year.

As per the claims made by the students, AIPC had banned all the above-mentioned companies from taking part in placements as they had altered the job profiles offered to students at the time of discussions or had changed the salary terms for the graduates who were selected in the year 2015. The placement committee of IITs had also issued a warning letter to the companies in this regard. Popular e-commerce platform, Flipkart, was also one among the companies that deferred the joining dates of candidates.
