A six-member committee did the audit of Allahabad University. The committee comprised of renowned and experienced professors from top educational institutes across the country. As per the suggestions of HRD Ministry, the University Grants Committee formed the committee. The team visited Allahabad University for three days, from November 13 to 15, 2017, to carry out the audit.
The report submitted by the committee highlighted the following problems: -
- Allahabad University is highly burdened with litigation. Currently, the varsity is fighting over 300 cases in court. These litigations are draining away the resources and time of the varsity. The shoddy framing of university ordinances and statures is the major reason for these litigations.
- Allahabad University is facing funds crunch, particularly non-plan funds, that are essential for releasing the salaries of employees on the campus.
- Allahabad University lacks a proper vision on the development activities. There is no appropriate future roadmap for the varsity.
- The audit report pointed out poor management system in the varsity, particularly at finance Office and Registrar’s Office.
