Footprints – 2016, an annual alumni meet of Indian Institute of Management, Indore concluded on November 13, 2016. Around 250 alumni came together and remembered their college days. Various fun events, games, DJ and cultural nights were conducted as a part of the meet.
The annual alumni entrepreneurship meet took place on November 13, 2016. On this occasion, IIM-I’s Entrepreneurship Cell launched a website to expand alumni network. The main objective of the website is to bring all the alumni entrepreneurs together and support the young entrepreneurs of the institute.

Professor DL Sunder, IIM-I mentioned that new steps are being taken to promote entrepreneurship. He pointed that IIM-I would start an incubation centre by July 2017 to support young entrepreneurs. The institute is planning to introduce entrepreneurship in the 2 nd year of the PGP curriculum which would carry 45 credits.
The entrepreneurship meet witnessed several speakers who were alumni members of the institute and experts in their respective fields.
Tarun Lalan, an alumni member, indicated that learning is a continuous process and one should learn from others’ mistakes. Gaurav Agarwal, on the other hand, was of the opinion that a person needs a consulting mind to go ahead with entrepreneurship and one must have clarity on what they want to do.

The meet concluded with a Question & Answer (Q&A) session where the participants posed various questions about whether to work in the corporate sector or directly jump into entrepreneurship. They also asked questions on how the government could help students to start their own business.
Finally, Footprints – 2016 came to an end with a lot of enthusiasm and memories among the current batch.
