Ambedkar University: Registration for Co-Curricular Quota Admissions (CCA) to begin from June 23

Ambedkar University: Registration for Co-Curricular Quota Admissions (CCA) to begin from June 23

Ambedkar University, Delhi has opened doors for the students who excel in various co-curricular activities like dance, music, creative writing, debating, fine arts, theatre and sports. The varsity will begin the admission process for UG and PG courses under Co-Curricular Admissions (CCA) Quota on June 23, 2017. The varsity offers supernumerary seats in these courses for the candidates who have excellent skills in these activities. The online and offline application process for UG & PG courses will close on June 23, 2017, after which the candidates can apply under CCA Quota.

The applicants must download the application form for CCA Quota on the official website of Ambedkar University. The candidates must submit the hard copy of filled in application form along with all the necessary documents/ certificates of achievements to the Dean of Student Services, Ambedkar University by July 1, 2017.

One of the officials clarified that the admissions under CCA category are applicable only for those who have already applied to Ambedkar University, and whose names are not on the first and second list of the course they have opted for.

On the other hand, the candidates who are submitting applications for PG programmes under CCA Quota must note that they need to have minimum eligibility scores in written test and interview. 70% weightage is for the trial result and 30% for the interview conducted by CCA or sports panel. Only eligible and qualified candidates will get admission.

Ambedkar University reserves supernumerary seats under CCA category in B.A (Hons) programme. The specialisations offered by varsity in B.A (Hons) programme are: -

  • Humanities
  • Social Sciences
  • Psychology
  • English
  • Economics

Only two supernumerary seats each are available in these courses under CCA/ sports category.

The varsity reserves only one supernumerary seat each in the following B.A (Hons) programmes: -

  • Sociology
  • Mathematics
  • History

The varsity reserves one seat each under CCA/ sports in all M.A programmes except: -

  • Film studies
  • Performance studies
  • Visual art
  • Literary art
