Two engineering graduates from Amritsar caught the attention of everyone after becoming successful in the civil services examination. Anmol Sher Singh Bedi who dreamt of cracking civil services made it by securing the second rank. He wants to join Indian Foreign Service (IFS). However, his ultimate aim is to write a book on international relations.
Bedi revealed that he did not expect the second rank in the toughest examination like civil services. He used to watch football matches on television to relieve stress. His hobbies are reading novels and playing chess.
Bedi completed his schooling from Springdale Senior Secondary School. Later, he went to BITS Pilani to complete B.E in Computer Engineering. He indicated that social media could be used as a great educational tool instead of making friends. His father is an educationist and mother is a social worker. Serving the nation has been his childhood dream.

The Chief Minister of the state Captain Amarinder Singh congratulated Bedi over the phone. The Shiromani Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee announced Rs. 1 lakh reward to Bedi.
Rahul Sharma, another aspirant from Amritsar bagged the 76 th rank. Earlier, he was working with IBM. However, he quit his job to achieve his goal, i.e., civil services. According to Rahul, civil services hold great potential for him and other Punjabi youth.

Rahul’s father, Mr. P.K. Shama is the principal of Hindu College. Rahul completed his schooling from DAV School, Amritsar. Later, he went to Thapar University to complete engineering. With an objective to relieve stress, Rahul reads novels.
Giving advice to the future aspirants, Rahul said that physical and mental fitness are essential for everyone. He used to maintain the balance between physical and mental fitness by doing physical exercise and playing chess. He also indicated that the aspirants who wish to crack civil services examination must remain positive and optimistic.
