AMTZ or Andhra Pradesh Medical Tech Zone has signed a MoU or Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay for bolstering medical device commercialization and innovation in the country. The collaboration between AMTZ and IIT Bombay will play a vital role in contributing a positive approach towards improving overall medical technology ecosystem in the country. Government policy promotion, research and new product development will also receive a boost through this collaboration.

Through this MoU, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay will provide accessibility to laboratories and training programmes for Andhra Pradesh Medical Tech Zone. Medical technology-based start-ups involved in IIT Bombay incubator programme will be benefitted from the largely integrated ecosystem of AMTZ.
AMTZ is in process of setting up country’s first ultra-modern medical equipment manufacturing system in Vizag. Andhra Pradesh Medical Tech Zone (AMTZ) will come up in an area of 270 acres and will include all the modern facilities including: -
- Warehousing and Regulator’s Office
- Rapid Prototyping Centre
- Gamma Irradiation Facility
- Radiation Testing Centre
- Sterilisation and Toxicity Testing Centre
- 3D Designing and Printing for Medical Grade Products
- Injection Molding Centres
- Cabinet Molding
- Medical Grade Low Vacuum Molding
- Electro-Magnetic Interference Laboratory
- Component Testing Centre
