Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh or AMU engineering students won an award for designing the quickest hybrid vehicle at an inter-college competition organised by Lovely Professioal University (LPU), Phagwara, Punjab. When the team of students from Aligarh Muslim University and Zakir Hussain College of Engineering were designing a three-wheeled hybrid vehicle, little did they realize that their endeavor would win them the first prize in the competition for designing the most efficient and quickest hybrid vehicle from among 69 sections from various designing schools and institutes at the National Event of Efficycle 2017 .
The students who won a cash prize of Rs. 25000 were a part of SAE Club, Team Green Warriors, AMU, ZHCET. Vikram (Captain), Kunal (Vice Captain), Pratigya, Amisha Saxena, Shubhi, Amisha Saxena, Rohit Saraswat, Sajal, Arif, Kamran, Saksham, and Deeshant were the team members who won the prestigious National Event of Efficycle for designing the quickest hybrid vehicle. The winning team worked under the supervision of SAE club seniors Anchal Varshney, Mehul Varshney, Wamiq Hashmi, and Areeb Mahmood.
The hybrid vehicle designed by the students of AMU is fuel efficient and can run on both electric and human power. This vehicle can run on the power of 20 paise for almost one kilometer and is designed well enough to cover the distance of approximately 100 kilometers with a single charge of battery.

ZHCET faculty were proud of the accomplishments of the students of the AMU. Also, the winning team expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the faculty of engineering and administration department of the university.
