The Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development of Andhra Pradesh confirmed that all the entrance exams would be conducted in an online mode from the next academic year, i.e., 2017-18. The decision was taken by HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao in a meeting with the officials of Department of Higher Education. He mentioned that the online tests are applicable for all the CETs like ICET, EAMCET, EDCET, PGCET and so forth.

The minister said that online tests would not leave any scope for leakage of questions in advance. He cited that paper leakage of EAMCET 2 exam in Telangana led to chaos, and such kind of incidents can be controlled only by carrying out online CETs.

He also mentioned that students need not worry about the online exams. The government will take all the essential steps for creating awareness among the students regarding online tests. For this purpose, mock tests will be conducted in advance. A special committee has been constituted to supervise online tests.
He also said that the responsibility of recruiting teaching faculty in universities is given to Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC).
