While official confirmation from the state government is still awaited, there are indications that schools in certain districts may observe a holiday on this date. Several districts have been issued red and orange alerts of heavy rain for September 4 in Andhra Pradesh. As per the IMD predictions, heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning is highly expected on the same day. That’s why, it’s very much likely that Andhra Pradesh School Holiday will be announced by the government soon for September 4.
Till now, ten people have lost their lives in various rain-related incidents in the state. Due to the current weather havoc, the students are unable to enter the school premises as they are flooded, and the school buildings are in a worn-out state making it unsafe to conduct classes. The yellow alert is announced by the IMD for these regions - North Coastal Region, Yanam, South Coastal Region, and Rayalseema.

As per some local reports, a lot of local rivers are overflowing and the roads are waterlogged.
