Andhra Pradesh Schools Closed on September 3:
Due to the
ongoing heavy rains
in several districts, the government of Andhra Pradesh has declared a holiday in all educational institutions and schools of the state on September 2. Several districts have been issued red and orange alerts of heavy rain for September 3 and 4 in Andhra Pradesh. According to the weather forecast department, strong winds and heavy thunderstorms will be observed in all major regions of the state. A similar situation is expected in the adjacent state, Telangana for the next couple of days. The District Collectors in Andhra Pradesh have been alarmed about the situation and have been directed to keep the emergency services ready.
Latest Update: All schools and educational institutions to remain closed for Guntur, Krishna and Godavari districts. Andhra Pradesh Schools Holiday 3 September 2024 has been issued by the government.

Andhra Pradesh Schools Shut for September 3 Amidst Heavy Rain
The weather forecast department has issued severe orange/red alert has been issued to a lot of districts of Andhra Pradesh for September 3 and 4. The District Officers earlier requested to issue a holiday for the educational institutions as the movement will be restricted due to rain in these districts. As per some local reports, a lot of local rivers are overflowing and the roads are waterlogged. The authorities declared a holiday for September 2. However, the holiday in all schools has been increased for one more day on September 3, 2024.
The weather department has announced an Orange Alert for rain in the following districts:
- Eluru
- Krishna
- Bapatla
- Kurnool
- Nandyal districts
A severe Red Alert warning is issued for these districts:
- Prakasam
- Guntur
- Palnadu
- NTR District.
All other districts have been kept on watch for the next two days.
