Recently, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued notification for the admission to Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs). There are four IIITs in Andhra Pradesh located in Nuzvid, R.K. Valley , Ongole and Srikakulam. IIITs located in Nuzivid and R.K. Valley have permanent campuses. The other two IIITs are functioning from a temporary campus. The Common Admission Process for all the IIITs will take place at IIIT Nuzvid.
The deadline to submit online applications for the admission to IIITs in Andhra Pradesh is June 5, 2017.
Usually, the candidates who secure 10/10 GPA in the examinations might get a seat in IIITs. This year, around 18,000 candidates from Andhra Pradesh bagged 10/10 GPA. All the four IIITs in Andhra Pradesh offer around 4,000 seats. The statistics clearly reveal that there will be a stiff competition for IIIT seats this year.

However, not all the candidates who get 10/10 GPA might apply for IIIT. The candidates who secure 9.8/10 GPA also apply every year. Last year, around 34,000 candidates applied for four IIITs, and the number of students secured 10/10 GPA was 6,000.
Usually, IIITs give more emphasis to subject wise marks rather than overall GPA. If there is a tie between the candidates, the authorities will consider subject marks. First preference will be given to the marks scored by the candidates in Mathematics followed by Science. Preference will also be given to the marks scored by the candidates in English, Social Studies and first language.

If a candidate secures 10 GPA in Mathematics, it means that he had scored 91-100 marks in the examination. Here, the authorities will not consider the GPA but considers the range of marks scored by candidates between 91-100.
However, this year there will be more competition as more number of students 10 GPA in Mathematics and Science. The counselling process will begin in the second or third week of June. A total number of 500 students will be called for counselling every day.
