Through this agreement, the School of Distance Education will be completely digitalized and the varsity is also planning to implement the same mechanism for regular courses too.
Andhra University Signs MoU with TCS to Digitalise School of Distance Education

Andhra University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Consultancy Services to render all the academic services relating to School of Distance Education (SDE) in online mode. Through this MoU, the entire academic related services starting from admission process to the declaration of results will be made in an online mode.

Currently, around 60,000 students are pursuing various Post Graduate (PG), professional, certificate and diploma courses through School of Distance Education. Earlier, the varsity had computerized the admissions and examination process through FoxPro database and stand-alone operating system. However, these are not amendable for web-based and online technology as it is not robust in maintaining the security.

Prof. G. Nageswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University revealed that the varsity had decided to upgrade the technology in November 2016. Therefore, a panel had been set up to figure out necessary solutions. Later, the varsity called for tenders to set up an online mechanism for the services rendered by School of Distance Education. Finally, TCS has been given the responsibility of computerizing the admission module.

The computerized admission module of SDE includes inquiry system, pre-examination, and post-examination module along with online payments. Now, the students can join any of the courses as per his/ her wish without much trouble. Services like admissions, issuance of hall tickets for the examinations, declaration of results and payment of examination will be provided online.

Through this agreement, the School of Distance Education will be completely digitalized and the varsity is also planning to implement the same mechanism for regular courses as well, in the near future.
