The Acharya N.G. Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU), Hyderabad, would be holding its 47th convocation at Sri Venkateswra Anam Kalakendram here on January 4. This is for the first time that the university is organizing this event in East Godavari District post bifurcation.
The Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India will be delivering the convocation address and also award degrees to the students from both Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.
30 students would be awarded the PhD degrees in Agriculture, while PhDs in Home Science would be awarded to 5 students, 109 students would be awarded MSc (Agriculture), MSc Biotechnology to 4 students, M.A.B.M to 13 students, MSc (Home Science) to 10 students and 7 students with MSc (Food Science and Technology). In addition to these some 29 students would be awarded with the degrees in absentia.
As far as undergraduate courses are concerned, 395 students including 303 students would be awarded BSc (Agriculture), 14 with BSc (Commercial agriculture and management), B.Tech (Food Science) to 8 students, B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) to 60 students and 10 would be awarded BSc (Home Science) degrees. In addition another 47 students would be awarded degrees in absentia.
