The Annual HR Conclave of IIM Ahmedabad concluded at the Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Saturday, 4 th March 2017. The theme of the one-day conclave was ‘Linkages between Executive Education and Digitalisation’, and was inaugurated by Director of the institute, Ashish Nanda in a solemn function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nanda said that Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have made it possible to democratise the transfer of knowledge with quality. The executive education delivered by IIM Ahmedabad basically focuses on promoting the effective learning with the help of digital technology.
Prof. Amit Karna of IIM Ahmadabad chaired the first-panel discussion on the topic 'Learning Challenges in the Digital World’. It focused on creating a different kind of learning experience in the challenging times. It highlighted the importance of blended learning that will help in community building for designers, supporters and learners.
It was followed by the next discussion under the title 'Digitisation and Future of Organisation'. The discussion was chaired by Prof Sunil Sharma of IIM-A.
The experts who took part in the panel discussion were:
- Dr. Babu Lal, ED Corporate Learning and Development, BHEL
- Mr. Jagdamba Prasad Joshi, Human Resource Schneider Electric
- Mr. Manish Chawla, General Manager, Global Industrial Products, IBM

Along with the conclave, the institute's Annual Calendar for Executive Education was also unveiled with the introduction of other three new courses. Prof. Sebastian Morris inaugurated the new calendar. The function was attended by a number of students, alumni and faculty members of the institute and a host of other guests.
