Andhra Pradesh Government hiked Engineering fee for the academic years 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19. After receiving the reports from all private engineering colleges regarding revenue and expenditures of the college, AP Government hiked the course fee. AP Government released a list of 229 Engineering Colleges with new fee structure. Government hiked the course fee for both B.Tech and M.Tech courses.
Till last year the course fee for B.Tech was between Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 40,000. According to the new fee structure the annual B.Tech fee is between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 55,000. For some colleges it has been hiked to Rs.65,000. B.Tech course fee at VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada is between Rs.65, 000 to Rs. 70,000/annum, this is the new revised fee structure. AP Government has raised the course fee between 10-15% compared to the previous academic years.
The course fee for M.Tech has also been increased to 15%. Maximum fee for M.Tech is Rs. 1, 00,000. VR Siddhartha Engineering College, Vijayawada is the only college in Andhra Pradesh where the course fee for M.Tech is high for rest of the colleges, fee has been increased to Rs. 90,000.
Hike in course fee is worrying parents very much. Now they have to spend around Rs. 2, 50,000 for a 4 year B.Tech course. Till last academic year it was around Rs. 1, 60,000.
