The state government of Andhra Pradesh has approved a new tuition fee structure for Polytechnic and D.Pharma courses in government and private colleges across the state. Apart from the tuition fee, the state government has hiked course fee, lab fee, library and syllabus fees for these courses. Due to the introduction of the New Management Information System, the state government has increased the fees for Polytechnic and Diploma courses.

The state government has concluded the Polytechnic admission process for the academic session 2018-19 recently. This year, close to 50% seats in Diploma in engineering courses remained vacant. Even though there was enough demand for popular polytechnic courses in government and private colleges, less popular courses failed to attract students. Even though the state government conducted an additional round of counselling process, 50% of seats remained vacant.

The new academic session in all polytechnic colleges across the state has been commenced. Candidates who have confirmed seats in the last round must start attending classes without fail.
