AP HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao has announced the provisional selection list of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), also known as Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). The four campuses of RGUKT are located in Idupulapaya, Nuzivid, Ongole and Srikakulam.
Candidates whose names have featured in the provisional selection list are eligible for the admission to six-year integrated B.Tech course offered by four IIITs across the state. The state government does not conduct any entrance exam for the admission to six-year integrated B.Tech course . The admission is purely based on SSC merit, i.e., CGPA secured in Class 10.

All the four campuses of RGUKT offer 4,000 seats (1,000 seats each). After the release of provisional merit list, AP HRD Minister confirmed that the classes at four campuses would begin from August 01, 2018.
As per the reservation policy of RGUKT Andhra Pradesh, 15% seats are applicable for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana students, while 85% students are reserved for local areas that come under Sri Venkateswara University (five districts) and Andhra University (eight districts).
Out of 4,000 seats available in IIITs, 3,743 students have secured eligiblity to get admission. Among the selected candidates, 1,358 are boys and 2,385 are girls.

This year, the state government received 50,850 applications seeking admission in IIITs. Out of the total applicants, 10,420 students secured 10/10 CGPA in Class 10 . The shortlisting of the candidates had become a tough task for the admission authority. Based on individual marks in each subject and total marks, shortlisting of candidates has been done.
