AP-PGECET 2017 examination commenced on May 10, 2017, across various test centres in Andhra Pradesh. On the first day, 90.97% students appeared for the examination. AP-PGECET 2017 will conclude on May 12, 2017. It is a Postgraduate Engineering Common Entrance Test for the admission to M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Phama courses in various colleges across the state.

This year, Andhra University, Vizag is conducting the examination on behalf of State Council for Higher education, Andhra Pradesh in 14 subjects. The examination is taking place in two shifts, i.e., morning and afternoon session. On May 10, 2017, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, Prof. G. Nageswara Rao released the password for the morning session test. Similarly, Registrar of the varsity, Prof. V. Umamaheswara Rao released the password for the afternoon session test.

Giving details about the AP-PGECET 2017, Convener of PGECET, Prof. Avadhani revealed that the examination took place in 39 test centres across Andhra Pradesh and one test centre in Hyderabad. There were no technical glitches reported on the first day, and the examination took place in a smooth manner.
Prof. Avadhani also informed that the results of AP-PGECET 2017 would be released on May 18, 2017. This year, only 42 candidates took the examination for geo-informatics and geoengineering. Computer Science registered a high number of candidates. A total number of 3,087 candidates took the examination in Computer Science. M.Pharamcy also registered 5,714 candidates this year, and the total attendance was 95.32 percent.
