G. Nageswararao, Vice-Chancellor of Andhra University, has announced that the notification of Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) 2017 will be released on March 1, 2017. He revealed that Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) had given the responsibility of holding AP PGECET 2017 to Andhra University.

Prof. P Avadani, Principal of AU College of Engineering has been appointed as the convener of AP PGECET 2017. The examination is going to take place on May 10 & 11, 2017. For the first time, AP PGECET 2017 will be conducted in an online mode. PGECET is an entrance examination that is being organised for the admission to M.Tech/ M.E/ M.Pharma courses in various colleges across the state.

Prof. P. Avadani explained that starting from the application process to submission and holding the entrance exam; everything will be carried out in online mode. The varsity had set up a separate department on the campus for PGECET to carry out all the exam related activities.
He further explained that PGECET 2017 would be conducted in 14 subjects and the students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline can apply for the examination. However, some students are allowed to take the examination in two to three subjects depending on their stream in Bachelor’s degree. It is expected that around 60,000 students might take the PGECET 2017 examination.
