The Department of School Education conducted the Day 1 and 2 AP TET 2024 Paper 1 exam on February 27 & 28, and the difficulty level of the paper was easy to moderate. The upcoming exam date for Paper 1 is February 29 and March 1. The Paper 1 of the AP TET exam 2024 is applicable for SGT (Secondary Grade Teachers) which means Diploma in Elementary Education candidates appear for this exam. As the exam is being conducted in a Computer-based format, the candidates will not get a physical copy of the question paper after the exam to estimate their tentative score. The Day 1 Shift 1 & 2 exam was 'Easy to Moderate' in terms of difficulty level and there were questions from the previous years' question papers. However, the English section did not have questions from previous years' papers. The normalization process plays a key role in shift-wise exams.

AP TET 2024 Paper 1 exam 2024 consists of 150 questions for 150 marks. The sections in the exam include English, Telugu, Child Development & Pedagogy, EVS and Mathematics. The candidates must note that
90
is the pass mark for the General category while
60
is the pass mark for the SC/ ST categories. Candidates of the OBC category must have a minimum of
75
marks to clear the exam. TET qualifying certificate will be issued to all the qualified candidates.
Candidates appearing for the AP TET exam in various shifts can have a glance at the syllabus to make sure that the last-minute revision is done without missing any topics.
Only those candidates clearing the AP TET exam will be able to appear for the AP DSC 2024 exam that is scheduled to be conducted in March. The TET marks will have
20% weightage
in AP DSC. However, there is not enough time gap between AP TET and DSC this year.
Earlier, a petition was filed in the AP High Court regarding allowing B.Ed graduates for SGT posts. As this rule violated the Supreme Court order on a similar issue, the AP High Court ordered the government not to allow B.Ed graduates for SGT. B.Ed graduates who applied for Paper 1 of AP TET 2024 will get a refund of the application fee. B.Ed graduates can only appear for Paper 2 of AP TET 2024.
AP government conducted the previous TET exam in August 2022. Almost
2.2 lakh
candidates are appearing for the AP TET 2024 as they have been eagerly waiting for the notification since 2022. On the other hand, AP DSC 2024 is being conducted after 5 years.
