An android app has been launched for the North-Eastern state students through which they can access the list of courses and various other details regarding the same offered by the Central Government and State Government Institutes in Assam . The app is called “ Career Nirmaan ” app and the District Administration of Hailakandi developed it to ensure the students from the north-eastern states can have the required information on their fingertips.
The Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi Keerthi Jalli said that one of the main objectives of the “Career Nirmaan” app is to prevent the migration of the local students to other states like Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai etc to pursue higher studies. The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the Central Universities and State Universities in Assam has a sufficient number of courses for the students yet, due to lack of information, students used to migrate to other metropolises for higher studies. The app will be a one-stop destination for information related to Institutions and the courses they offer. “Career Nirmaan” app was launched on 29th January 2020.

Hailakandi DC also confirmed that through the app the students will get all the information related to skill development training courses offered by the Government. On being asked to pinpoint those sectors where employment opportunities are bright for the students, she replied that nursing, hotel management and tourism sectors offer more employment than any other sectors.

She also said that technology has taken employability to a new level. It is technology only that has enabled people to work for their overseas employers without being at the office, a completely different scenario from the past.
