Assam Engineering College invites applications from eligible candidates for admissions into following courses for the academic session 2016-2017:
A. Civil Engineering
Specialisation:
Geotechnical Engineering (18 seats)
Water Resources Engineering (18 seats)
B. Mechanical Engineering
Specialisation:
Mechanical Engineering (18 seats)
C. Electrical Engineering
Specialisation:
Power Systems (18 seats)
Eligibility:
Bachelor degree holders in respective Engineering discipline from any AICTE approved Institution with a minimum of 55% marks for General and OBC/MOBC category and 50% marks for SC/ST category candidates are eligible for admission. Valid GATE Score will be considered in preparation of the Final Merit List. Having valid (2015-2016) and Qualified (Score above the cut-off for respective category) GATE Score will be an added advantage for the candidates but is not a mandatory criterion.
Candidates appearing in the final examination may also apply but they must have to produce their Original Mark Sheet along with Pass Certificate of the Final Degree Examination on the day of Admission.
Selection Procedure:
An admission test will be held for selection of candidates. The test will be of three hour duration. There will be 100 MCQ type questions. Four marks will be awarded for every correct answer and one mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The final Merit List will be prepared by adding valid (2015-2016) & Qualified (Score above the cut-off for respective category) GATE Score (Out of 100) with the marks scored in the admission test. No marks will be added to those candidates who do not have valid and qualified GATE Score.
Reservation of seats will be made as per existing norms.
Application Procedure:
Candidates are to apply online for appearing in the test at www.aec.in. After applying online, candidates will have to send the hard copy of the downloaded print out of the application form along with a Bank Draft of Rs 1000/- drawn in favour of ‘Principal, AEC, SW Fund’ payable at Guwahati through Speed Post to the following address:

Students may directly deposit the form and the Bank Draft at the Office of Principal, Assam engineering College.
Hall Ticket/ Admit Card may be downloaded online by entering the Application Number and their date of birth.
