AU Student Bags Internship at Ministry of Fisheries

Brijesh Kumar Pandey, a research scholar at Allahabad University, has received an internship opportunity at the Ministry of Fisheries. The scholar is completing his research on social entrepreneurship and conservation of indigenous fish production.

AU Student Bags Internship at Ministry of Fisheries

A research scholar of the Centre of Science and Society (Rural Technology and Development) of the famous University of Allahabad , Brijesh Kumar Pandey, has grabbed a summer internship in the discipline of Fisheries with the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in New Delhi.

Professor Anupam Dikshit, who is the coordinator of Allahabad University’s Centre of Science and Society and also the director of the Faculty Recruitment Cell of the university, gave the details and said that the internship will be of a duration of three months.

At present, Brijesh is completing his research under the Assistant Professor of the Centre of Science and Society (Rural Technology and Development) of AU, Shashi Kant Shukla. The research area of Brijesh includes conservation and social entrepreneurship through indigenous fish production. Pandey was also given the Best Poster Presentation award last month by the Botanical Survey of India of the Central Region Allahabad.

Brijesh talked about this achievement and said that he was excited to undergo this internship opportunity at the ministry. He said he started his work on the topic of social entrepreneurship with the motivation of Professor Anupam Dikshit who takes the problem seriously and had initiated work in this context at a pond of Keshwapur village by appointing Brijesh.

Hublal, the owner, was running in a loss since the past three years and Brijesh helped him cover his loss and also earn a profit. Professor Dikshit said that fish are highly nutritious and because of its benefits it is consumed by a large number of people. Therefore, this powerful tool can be used in the direction of the eradication of poverty.
