As per the CGHE Report (Centre for Global Higher Education), Australia is expected to emerge as the second most favourable destination for international students to pursue higher studies. At present, the United Kingdom (UK) is in the second spot, and Australia is on the verge of overtaking the UK. The United States (US) is in the first spot in terms of attracting international students. The UK is expected to fall to third place, the research revealed.

Indian students prefer studying management courses from Australian Universities as they offer customised management courses. The preferred destination among Indian students in Australia is Melbourne, Perth, Queensland, and Sydney. These universities make sure that the students collaborate on learning and research spaces, work-integrated learning opportunities, relevant internships, etc.
Director of CGHE and Author of CGHE Report, Professor Simon Marginson revealed that the UK had limited the new student enrolment and post-study work visas in the last five years. Therefore, the number of international students pursuing higher studies in the UK has gone down since 2012. On the other hand, the UK has witnessed an increase in the number of international students by 30% from 2011-15 while the UK recorded only 3% growth in these years.

Surprisingly, the number of Indian students pursuing higher studies in the UK has gone down by 60% from 2012-17. At the same time, Australia has been successful in attracting Indian students at a rapid pace. Apart from Indians, students from other countries are also able to get admission in some of the top universities in Australia.
