Axis Bank Teams-Up with Srijan to Train IIM Graduates

A partnership knot has been tied between Axis Bank and NGO Srijan to promote and raise IIM graduates for the Development sector. The initiative has been named Buddha Fellowship Programme . As of now, Axis Bank has picked 15 graduates of Indian Institutes of Management Ahmedabad , Shillong and Kolkata . These graduates will work for NGO Srijan as employees.

According to Jacob Ninan, Chief Executive of Axis Bank Foundation , development sector needs professionally qualified trained talents just the way corporate sector needs. The problems of Development sector are more complex than other sectors and there is no off-the-shelf remedy accessible. This has led to the urgent need of fresh, sharp and innovative thinkers for the Development industry. This will also help IIM graduates explore the Development sector and find out more scope and goals in this sector.

IIM graduates also underwent a day-long session with business heads of Axis Bank. Srijan and Axis Bank were the organisers of this session. Ved Arya head of Srijan, added that the students of IIM are a group of professionals on the job, under Buddha Fellowship Programme, that will be working with farmer producer companies in rural areas, civil society organisations and government departments to develop existing projects and set new projects in health, livelihood and education sectors. Buddha Fellowship Programme will not only help Development sector but will also empower the rural areas to develop their standard of living.
