Nagpur has always een pioneers for protecting it's trees and maintaining greenery in the city. For the first time ever, Ayurveda College, Nagpur has landed itself in serious trouble by chopping down 79 full grown in the college campus. The college student has taken this matter to authorities and complained against it.
Many important tree species including Shisham, Keshiya, Parkia, Tamarind, Shirish and others having medicinal value were cut.
Following this, the Garden Department issued a notice to the concerned college authorities, which claimed the protection of old permits issued by the department to cut trees. The college hasto file a reply in seven days.
Environmentalists in the city are very upset with this college incident and are willing to take the matter with the state Government.
