AYUSH: Nomination for MD & PG Courses Extended till July 31

  • Recently the Central Government clarified that admission to AYUSH courses will be based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) from 2018.
  • Therefore, the candidates who are aspiring for AYUSH courses have to qualify in NEET.
AYUSH: Nomination for MD & PG Courses Extended till July 31

Various administration reasons have forced the competent authority CGN to extend the last date for receiving applications for nominations to PG & MD courses under AYUSH through the concerned Union Territories and state governments. Now, the deadline to submit applications is July 31, 2017.

Earlier, the Centre had issued notification for nomination to PG/ MD in Homeopathy, Siddha, Unani & Ayurveda courses under CGN or Central Government Nomination as per prescribed guidelines for the academic session 2017-18. The CGN invited applications from eligible medical officers, research officers and government teachers through the concerned Union Territories or state governments from June 15 to June 30, 2017. Now, the applicants have one month time to complete the application process. The CGN authority will not accept any applications after July 31, 2017.

The demand for AYUSH courses has been increasing because of which the government is laying more emphasis on the development of these courses. Therefore, the requirement of skilled professionals in AYUSH will increase in the coming years. Recently, AYUSH Ministry also indicated that they would take steps in maintaining the standards of education in this stream.

The centre took the decision to standardize the admission process. Therefore, the candidates who are aspiring for AYUSH courses have to qualify in NEET. From 2018, no institute will have the authority to conduct separate entrance test for the admission to AYUSH courses.
