Piyush Lohia from Bhiwandi, Rajasthan has secured the second position in India in the Final CA examination 2017. The exam was held on November 2016. Twenty-two year old Piyush is a B.Com graduate from Mulund College of Commerce, Mumbai. Hailing from a humble background, Piyush's father runs a provisional store and his mother is a housewife.
More than 36,768 candidates had appeared for the Final Chartered Accountancy Test in November, 2016. Of them, around 11.57% students have cleared the examinationa nd around 7,192 students have qualified to become CA professionals. Of the three toppers in the Final CA exam 2016, two of them are girls:
- Eti Agarwal from Lucknow
- Jyoti Maheshwari from Ahmedabad
The Final CA exam is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Lohia scored 71.75% in the exam. He said he was expecting a good merit rank in the Final CA exam, but he never expected to bag the second rank on allIndia basis. A few years ago, Piyush had also secured 9th rank in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) of CA at an all India level. The test is held for the entry level in CA.

He said that he is not sure about his next step, but is keen on pursuing his higher studies in Finance and he also plans on doing MBA. For the first two years, he wants to work in a corporate firm and then he would like to move Analytics.
Piyush completed his Articleship from a firm in Dadar in Mumbai and he used the reading room facility which was set up in Bhiwandi by the ICAI recently.
