BHU Announces Scholarship for Central Hindu School Students

BHU or Banaras Hindu University has declared a scholarship scheme for the meritorious students of Central Hindu School who are hailing from financially weaker backgrounds. As per the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rakesh Bhatnagar the scholarship will be offered to two girls of Central Hindu Girls School and a student of Central Hindu Boys School, both run by BHU (Banaras Hindu University). The criteria for selection of students for the scholarship will be their result in class 5 every year. It is mandatory for the scholarship holder to achieve at least 75% marks in every class.

The public relation officer of BHU, Rajesh Singh claims that the Shri Vaidhyanath Banerjee scholarship and Shrimatri Pratibha scholarship will come into immediate effect from the current session.

The wife of Rakesh Bhatnagar along with her kin, Ajeet Banerjee and Sarju Geeta Banerjee took hold of the initiative to start the scholarship in memory of her late father and late mother. The donors have offered Rs. 4.24 Lakh as a fund for the scholarship.

Dr. Singh, the public relation officer of BHU said that with the help of the scholarship, two meritorious students of the Central Hindu Girls School and one student of the Central Hindu Boys School will be sponsored completely. They would be provided with the entire school fee, books, stationery and uniform from class 6 to class 12.

The step taken by BHU is commendable as through the scholarship deserving students will be able to get a quality education. The financial condition would no more stop the meritorious students from undertaking good quality education from Central Hindu School.
