The University of Delhi has invited bids from private players as they plan to conduct an Online Computer-based Entrance Test for various programmes across 18 cities in the country for the 2018-19 academic session. As per the university notice, the test will be conducted for all undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil and PhD programmes.

An e-procurement notice issued by the varsity stated that the bidder will have to conduct the exam, manage and handle its administration, logistics and also process results for the university and hand over them. However, the university faced a lot of criticism from students last year regarding the online entrance tests for PG, M.Phil, and PhD courses as it was not feasible to conduct these with the online format.

The question paper for the online entrance exam will be objective-type which will consist of multiple choice questions. The duration of DU online entrance test will be of two hours and the medium of the test would be Hindi or English or both and will take place in three shifts. As per the notice on the Delhi University website, 8 March 2018 is the last date of submission of the bid.
However, students are of the view that an option for the offline process should also be made available. RockyTuseed Delhi University Students’ Union President stated that they are not against the online entrance test but a provision for the offline process should be made as well. Since many students are still not efficient enough to understand the online procedure and how to appear and prepare for the online test.
