UPSC aspirants belonging to SC and ST categories in Bihar will get a financial aid of Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 1 lakh if they clear preliminary exam conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) respectively.
The Government of Bihar has given approval for the final aid scheme for UPSC and BPSC aspirants. The financial assistance scheme for SC/ ST UPSC aspirants has been named as ‘Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jati Evam Anusuchit Janjati Civil Seva Protsahan Yojana’ . The scheme will enable the bright students belonging to SC and ST categories to focus on their studies without worrying about the expenses.

The decision to provide financial assistance to bright UPSC SC/ ST aspirants came after Bihar government extended all the existing schemes for ‘Mahadalits’ in the state. The financial aid scheme is a follow-up to Bihar CM’s flagship Student Credit Card Scheme . Under this scheme, students who passed Class XII and whose family’s annual income is less than Rs. 1.5 lakh will be provided with a loan of Rs. 4 lakh for pursuing higher studies.

The financial aid scheme for the aspiring bright students is appreciable. The government is trying hard to improve the enrolment of students in higher education through various schemes. Over the years, various Bihar students cracked UPSC Civil Services Exam. The new financial aid scheme will help more aspirants to crack the exam and make the state proud.
