Bihar Teacher Recruitment 2023: As per the new rules, the Bihar cabinet has approved the new teacher recruitment rules, which will be done through a centralized process. The motive is to avoid controversies that arise when the teachers' appointments was made through the Panchayati raj institutions. Now they are looking to conduct the pending recruitment drive in the state for teachers recruitment.

To appoint teachers in the state, a commission will be set up in due course of time. Furthermore, the officials engaged in the recruitment process stated that “It will receive roaster wise vacancy position by August 1 of each year”. In the year 2005, the appointment in the schools of Bihar was made through the Vidhyalay Seva Board. But now teachers will have a separate district cadre and in the higher secondary schools there will be a subject-wide cadre and they will be equivalent to the state government employees.

The teachers in schools will be appointed for all the posts through direct appointment on a two-year probation, which might get extended if the performance is not satisfactory.  As per the new rules, only those who will be eligible to be appointed as a teacher in the state who will be having qualified teachers’ eligibility tests organized by the State and the Centre and comply with the provisions of the Rehabilitation Council of India and National Council for Teachers’ Education (NCTE). It must be noted that those who have cleared the Teachers Competency Test prior to 2012 will remain exempted from the TET criteria.

The Bihar Government in the 2022-23 Budget, has declared to appoint 48,762 primary teachers, 89,734 teachers in higher secondary schools, 44,193 teachers in secondary schools, and 7,360 computer teachers.
