Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani , an institute known for its engineering courses, has launched a new B-School. Called the BITS School of Management (BITSoM), the newly-launched school will offer Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree courses. BITS has reportedly invested Rs. 1,500 crore in this school and is setting up the BITSoM campus in a 60-acre area in Kalyan, Mumbai.
BITSoM will offer a 2-year full-time residential MBA course and fees for the same has reported to be Rs. 24 lakh. Kumar Mangalam Birla, the Vice-Chancellor of BITS, talked to the press at the virtual launch of the school. He said the MBA courses offered by BITSoM will go beyond management studies. As per the insights shared by Mr Birla, the courses will focus on preparing young leaders for the age of digitization, sustainability and deglobalization.

As per the information shared by Mr Birla, the school has identified globally renowned faculty from top business schools around the world to teach the course. Professors from schools such as Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, New York University's Stern School of Business, Kellogg School of Management and Singapore Management University have been identified for teaching at BITSoM.

Initially, the course will start with a batch of 120 students. The selection will be based on an overall evaluation of the candidate including their academics and other extracurricular qualifications. Rahul Banerjee, who was earlier the Dean of SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) , has been appointed as the new Dean of BITSoM.
