A blood donation camp was organised at IIM Raipur with joint efforts from the CSR club of Indian Institute of Management Raipur 'Kartavya' and the Red Cross Society. The event was organised on 7 th of September, Wednesday.
Students from all over Raipur, Bhilai came forward for the noble cause and in total more than 150 students from IIM Raipur, IIT Bhilai , GEC Raipur donated blood at the camp. Apart from students, locals and people from the neighbouring regions Sejbahar area were present at the event from donating blood. The timings of the event were from - 11a.m. to 6p.m.
Hygiene was given special importance, the event was conducted under the supervision of specialised doctors and nurses.

People were also educated on how blood donation is important and how it helps the needy. Also, it aimed in developing a positive attitude and perception towards blood donation in the mind of people.
The camp urged the people to donate blood 2-3 times in a year which will not only save someone else’s life but will also lower cholesterol and decrease the risk of heart attack.
Also, the person who is donating blood at any camp is provided with a donor card which is a proof of his donation and in the case of an emergency, he/she is eligible to receive one free unit of blood if required.
