British Council Delegation Meets Education Minister and TSCHE

The British Council, under the leadership of Janaki Pushpanathan, interacted with the Education Minister of Telangana, G Jagadish Reddy. The meeting was held on 22nd July 2019.

British Council Delegation Meets Education Minister and TSCHE

A delegation of the British Council of India that is led by Janaki Pushpanathan invited the Minister of Education of Telangana, G Jagadish Reddy, at the office of Telangana State Council of Higher Education. Janaki Pushpanathan is the Director of the British Council in South India. She welcomed G Jagadish Reddy who then interacted with the Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Professor Tummala Papi Reddy, the Vice-Chairmen of TSCHE, Professor R Limbadri and Professor V Venkata Ramana, and also a member of TSCHE, O Narsimha Reddy.

The delegation of the British Council expressed its keen interest in collaborating with the State for the specific areas of school education, technical education, and higher education. It also complimented the Telangana State Council of Higher Education and all the initiatives it has taken up for giving a boost to the quality of higher education and its internationalisation.

The officials of the delegation identified several broad areas which included symposiums, seminars, promotion of academic exchanges and internationalisation via active participation of students in various events, capacity building of teachers (training the trainers), etc. They also discussed innovation, promoting, incubation, and employability in the sector of Higher Education.

The officials of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) explained the initiatives of higher education that they have undertaken and are in process. The delegations of the British Council felicitated the Education Minister of Telangana, G Jagadish Reddy, and extended an invitation for participation in the famous Education World Forum. The Education World Forum will be held in London on the 21st and 22nd January 2020.
