AICTE Report on Management & Engineering Placements 2018
The number of students getting placed through campus placements from technical, management and engineering institutions is less than 60%. This was shared by Satya Pal Singh, the Union Minister of State for HRD, as an answer to a written question in the Lok Sabha.
Singh said that according to the placement data of students available with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) , the average campus placement for the graduates from the technical, management and engineering institutes is not even 60%.
To increase this number and encourage 100% placement for the graduates, an outcome-based model curriculum for UG and PG level courses in management and engineering programmes has been launched by AICTE. This will make the programmes industry-oriented and also, institutes are now responsible for providing internships for students so that they have better employment prospects, Singh further said.
