Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau delivered a lecture at IIM Ahmedabad on February 19, 2018. For the first time, a Prime Minister of a foreign country visited IIM Ahmedabad. The visit of Justin Trudeau was a step to strengthen the ties between IIM Ahmedabad and Canada. All the students of IIM Ahmedabad were present at the venue on February 19, 2018, the officials informed.
Students and officials of IIM Ahmedabad expressed their happiness as one of the global leaders visited their campus. Curiosity had prevailed over the talk of Canadian PM. Justin Trudeau talked about the potential of in Indo-Canadian ties during the town hall at IIM-A. He also informed the trade between the two countries stood at $2 billion in services and $8 billion in goods.
The Canadian PM also said that there is a lot of scope for growth in the farming sector. There are certain challenges that Canada faces in the farming domain and is looking forward to their agro-ties with India to come up with solutions and increase trade, he added. He also encourages to share values that both the countries follow in order to maintain business harmony.

Trudeau also talked about the importance of media and its challenges. He added that media is one of the integral parts of a successful democracy. He also talked about the hazards of dividing societies and added that a successful pluralistic approach is a key to understand people from different backgrounds.
Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi has invited Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau to visit India. The Canadian PM will stay in India from till February 23, 2018. Justin Trudeau is the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada who has been elected in the year 2015. He is regarded as the second youngest PM of Canada after Joe Clark. Justin is the leader of the Liberal Party, and he played a premier role in leading his party to victory in 2015 federal election.

Justin Trudeau holds Bachelor's degree in Arts (Literature) from McGill University, as well as, Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of British Columbia.
