Few CAT 2016 exam toppers shared some preparation tips so as to aquaint students who plan to appear for the management entrance exam in the year 2017. These insights can help you balance your study and time effectively.

Rahul Sharma, who is one of the 100 percentile scorers from Delhi in CAT- 2016, is an instructor with a coaching institute and an IIM Ahmedabad graduate. He appeared in the test because he wanted to teach his students how to garner good scores in the test. He said that the test has now become easier. When he appeared for the exam in 2008, it was to be written with pen and paper. Now thanks to the digital age, it has become online.

There is a good balance between all three sections - Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability and Quantitative Ability. But the marks given to Verbal Ability is higher than other sections. It means that if the candidates don't score well in other sections, they can still get a good score.

Rahul left his to two previous jobs and entered the teaching domain to help the CAT aspirants. He started his career with just two students. He transformed his passion for teaching into a profession. On the other hand, he repents the fact that only engineers have managed to get a 100 percentile this year in the CAT exam.

22 year-old Akshay Mehndiratta, an IIT-Delhi graduate, who made it to the top in his second attempt is another 100 percentile scorer from Delhi. In this first attempt, he got 99.34 and he was waiting for a call from one of the three top IIMs - IIM-A, IIM-B or IIM-C . However, he did not receive one. Then he decided to give it another shot. Currently employed with a firm in Gurgaon, he revealed that he had been preparing for the exam from last year June. He was working hard over the weekend preparing for the exam besides his routine office work.

Another IIT Delhi graduate Arpit Singh said that he started for preparing in September 2015. He would practice the modules of questions over the weekend and analyse his performance and pace himself accordingly.
