Indian Institutes of Management have been working consistently to maintain equal gender ratio on its campuses. It is interesting to know that this year, the number of women candidates who have registered for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 is very high. The trend indicates that the premier management institutes are successful in encouraging more number of women candidates to join IIMs.
IIM Lucknow which is conducting CAT 2017 exam revealed that the total number of female candidates who registered for IIM-CAT 2017 is 78,009 as compared to last year's 76,704. Furthermore, 31 transgender candidates have also registered for the exam. The overall registration for CAT 2017 was as high as 2.31 lakhs .

Professor Neeraj Dwivedi – Convenor of CAT 2017 pointed that the total number of female candidates registering for CAT 2017 has increased by 1.16 percent compared to the last year. CAT 2017 recorded the highest number of female applicants in five years.
Candidates who have been eagerly waiting to download CAT 2017 admit card can now do so from October 25, 2017, onwards. CAT 2017 will take place on November 26, 2017. The exam is a gateway to seek admission to MBA or other management courses in IIMs and over 150 management institutes across the country. The exam will be conducted in 140 cities across the country. There is no change in the CAT 2017 exam pattern .

Candidates appearing for CAT 2017 must note that they need to reach the exam centre at least one hour before the exam to avoid last minute rush.
