Aadhaar number has been made mandatory for the all the aspirants of UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) . CBSE has officially confirmed the mandatory Aadhaar rule. Earlier, CBSE had also made Aadhaar number mandatory for various entrance exams conducted by it. The reason for making Aadhaar mandatory while filling the application form is to ensure accuracy in an applicant’s details. Mandatory Aadhaar rule will regulate the hassles relating to the identification of the candidate.
The mandatory Aadhaar rule is applicable to all the states except Meghalaya, Assam, Jammu & Kashmir. All the candidates applying for UG NET November 2017 examination must enter their Aadhaar number in the online application form.

CBSE has confirmed that UGC NET 2017 examination will take place on November 5, 2017. However, the board did not release the official notification on July 24, 2017, as mentioned earlier. The release of official UGC NET 2017 notification is delayed and there is no clarity on the exact release date of notification.
An official update on the official website indicated that the online form filling process for UGC NET November 2017 examination would begin on August 1, 2017. The aspirants can complete the registration process until August 30, 2017.
This year, UGC & CBSE failed to conduct the NET examination in July due to various reasons.
Recently, the University Grants Commission has revised the eligibility criteria for UGC NET examination.
