CBSE Class 10 Daily Practice Questions 10 October 2023: As CBSE board exam 2024 is nearing, the students shall focus on studying daily for all subjects. As per the exam pattern of the board, the papers for Maths, Science, and Social Science subjects will have MCQs, very short answer questions (SA-I), short answer questions (SA-II), long answer questions (LA), and case-based questions. For today, October 10, 2023, the SA-II questions for all three subjects are provided for practice.

1. Prove that √5 is an irrational number.
2. If (-5, 3) and (5, 3) are two vertices of an equilateral triangle, then find co-ordinates of the third vertex, given that origin lies inside the triangle. (Take √3 =1.7)
3. Two concentric circles are of radii 5 cm and 3 cm. Find the length of the chord of the larger circle which touches the smaller circle.

1. What are amphoteric oxides? Give an example.
2. Give the reason why:
   1. gold and silver are used for making jewellery.
   2. a few metals are used for making cooking utensils.
3. A chemical compound X is used in glass, soap and paper industries. On treatment with ethanoic acid, it forms salt, water and carbon dioxide.
   (a) Identify X.
   (b) How is this compound obtained from brine? Write the equations involved.
   (c) State the number of molecules of water of crystallization present in compound X.
