CBSE Class 10 Daily Practice Questions 11 October 2023: As CBSE board exam 2024 is nearing, the students shall focus on studying daily for all major and scoring subjects which are Maths, Science, and Social Science. As per the exam pattern of the board, the papers for these subjects will have MCQs, very short answer questions (VSA or SA-I), short answer questions (SA-II), long answer questions (LA), and case-based questions. For today, October 11, 2023, the long answer questions for all three subjects are provided for practice.

  1. Water is being pumped out through a circular pipe whose internal diameter is 8 cm. If the rate of flow of water is 80 cm/s, then how many litres of water is being pumped out through this pipe in one hour?
  2. A girl on a ship standing on a wooden platform, which is 50 m above water level, observes the angle of elevation of the top of a hill as 30 and the angle of depression of the base of the hill as 60. Calculate the distance of the hill from the platform and the height of the hill.
  3. 250 apples of a box were weighed and the distribution of masses of the apples is given in the following table:

    100-120 60
    120-140 70
    140-160 x
    160-180 60
    (i) Find the value of x and the mean mass of the apples.
    (ii) Find the modal mass of the apples

    (ii) List three types of substances secreted by the gastric glands and state the role of each in the digestion of food in alimentary canal of human beings.
  2. What is a lens? List two main categories of lenses. In which category is a double concave lens placed?
  3. (i) An electric iron consumes energy at a rate of 880 W when heating is at the maximum rate and 330 W when the heating is at the minimum. If the source voltage is 220 V, calculate the current and resistance in each case.
    (ii) What is heating effect of electric current?
    (iii) Find an expression for the amount of heat produced when a current passes through a resistor for some time.
