CBSE Class 10 English Blueprint 2024: The written paper of CBSE Class 10th English Subject is conducted for 80 marks. The paper is divided into three sections: A, B, and C, with a total of 11 questions having multiple sub-questions. All of the questions are compulsory but will be asked with internal choices in some of them. The question paper has been designed in such a pattern that half of the weightage of the question paper is based on competencies while the other half will contain questions from the syllabus.

Check the section-wise marks distribution based on competencies regarding the marking scheme, answering pattern, and others that have been shared below:
- Section A contains no internal choice having Two questions with 10 MCQ/one-word answer-based questions each.
- Section B is entirely based on writing and grammar. Que 3 will contain 12 one-mark questions out of which only ten have to be answered.
- Que 4 and Que 5 are entirely writing-based questions having internal choice in both questions. The maximum limit of the use of words is 100-120 words only carrying 5 marks each
- Section C is based on the literature syllabus of CBSE Class 10. Que 6 and Que 7 contain five MCQ each of one mark
- Que 8 contains five short-answer type questions of 3 marks each out of which only 4 have to be attempted
- Que 9 contains three short-answer type questions of 3 marks each out of which only 2 have to be attempted
- Que 10 and 11 have to be answered in Long answer type questions carrying 6 marks each
