CBSE Class 12 Results 2017: Odisha CM Asks HRD Minster to Look into Discrepancies

Yesterday, the Chief Minister of Odisha - Naveen Patnaik has urgently asked Prakash Javadekar, the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister to personally look into the alleged discrepancies in Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) higher secondary examination results for the students of Odisha and take corrective measures.

Patnaik wrote a letter to HRD Minister expressing concern towards the students who have appeared for senior secondary examination in the Bhubaneswar zone and are suffering from gross discrepancies in the CBSE results published on 28 May. He has requested Javadekar to direct the CBSE authority to issue appropriate action in order to rectify this situation and provide relief to the students affected.

Odisha CM revealed the manner in which Class 12 results have been published shocked both the students and parents. Initially, the CBSE website refused to show the results of thousands of students from Bhubaneswar zone causing unavoidable anxiety to many students and the parents.

Naveen informed about a lot of discrepancies reported in the subject-wise results of many students. He said that suffering of students doesn't end as a significant difference is noticed in the subject-wise marksheets of many candidates. There are some bright students who have obtained very less or uneven marks in single digits in certain subjects, whereas the same students have got very high marks in other subjects.

Mentioning about the immense emotional trauma the CBSE has put the students through, Patnaik told that the affected students will be not able to take admissions in different colleges across the country until immediate action is taken for re-evaluation of their answer sheets.
