Even though the curriculum of state boards is easier than CBSE and ICSE, lack of quality teaching, teachers and poor teaching and learning processes are the major reasons for the unsatisfactory performance of students.

While ICSE schools had better performance in English and Science , CBSE schools had the best performance in Social Science and Mathematics.

The NAS findings will help NCERT to plan and design pedagogical interventions to improve learning outcomes and overall quality of education.
