The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to conduct re-tests for major class Xth and XIIth subjects for those students, particularly who were affected by the riots in North-East Delhi. Earlier, the Board had decided to conduct re-exams for these riot-affected North-East Delhi students but now, re-test will be conducted for major subjects only.
According to a statement released by the CBSE, re-test will be conducted for only those subjects which are very crucial for promotion and admission into higher educational institutions. The official circular also declared that the exams will be conducted by the Board as and when it is in a position to do so.
In total, CBSE is going to conduct re-exams for 29 subjects. For the North-East Delhi region class Xth and XIIth students, re-test will be conducted for 06 and 11 subjects respectively. Another re-test for 12 subjects will be conducted by CBSE for class XIIth students across the nation. It adds up to 29 subjects.

The CBSE has also clarified that it has not released any circular which is currently going around in various social media platforms claiming that the re-tests will be conducted from April 22nd onwards. The CBSE has reinstated that a 10-day gap will be there between the announcement of the date sheet and conduct of the exams. CBSE is yet to announce the exam dates.
The CBSE has also decided to put a couple of days layoff before starting the evaluation process which eas put to halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic in the country. The list of subjects for which the CBSE is going to conduct a re-test is as follows -

In addition to this, the CBSE has decided that students from class Ist up till VIIIth will be promoted to their respective next grades
