In the last few days, the controversies surrounding the CBSE paper leak have disturbed students, parents and teachers to a great extent. To further add to it, the CBSE on Friday evening (30th March) announced that the class 12 Economics exam will be re-conducted on 25th April 2018 for candidates belonging to India. The CBSE NRI candidates will not be required to appear for the exam.
Further, the CBSE has clarified that since the investigations for the Class 10 Maths exam are still underway, no official date for the re-exam can be announced at the moment. During a press conference it was highlighted that even if the class 10 Maths exam is reconducted, it shall only be applicable for Delhi and Haryana state candidates, and not the entire country or NRI students affiliated to CBSE schools abroad. The board is expected to five more clarity on the same in the next 15 days. If the exam will be conducted again, it may take place in the month of July 2018.
While the student community along with their parents and teachers are lamenting over CBSE's decision by protesting in the open, signing online petitions etc, the board is emphasising on the fact that the decision to re-conduct the exam is in the favour of students so that sanctity of the exam and education system is maintained at large.
