CBSE’s New Policy to Address Irregularities in Board Exam Question Papers

The CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has notified its new mechanism or policy to regulate irregularities in the question papers of Class 10 & 12 board exams. CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams 2019 are underway, and lakhs of students are appearing for these exams. Despite CBSE’s efforts to ensure error-free question paper in board exams, there may be a few errors, which may confuse students while answering questions. Therefore, CBSE has figured out a way to regulate these irregularities.

CBSE’s New Policy to Regulate Irregularities in Board Exam Question Papers

If anomaly noticed after administering the question paper to students, CBSE will address the issue in the following ways –

  • On the day of the exam, CBSE will consider the observations obtained from subject experts.
  • Within 24 hours after conducting the exam, CBSE will obtain observations on question paper from all the affiliated schools.
  • Information obtained from other sources shall be also taken into consideration.

With an aim to protect the interests of students, CBSE will compile all the observations obtained from subject experts, teachers, and other sources. The compiled observations shall be provided to the group preparing the Marking Scheme to address the anomaly.

CBSE further clarified that the board could not address/ provide the solution for any anomaly or irregularity on the day of the exam, as communicating a solution to all the schools is not possible.
